banos

And now we are taking a few days to relax and spend some time with some long lost friends! Who would of thought we would be spending time with Tracey and Emma in South America? We had a 10 hour bus ride to get to Banos, but for $10 a person there is no cheaper way to go.

Our drive to Banos was a Foggy one!
This city seems to be one of the most popular tourist attractions in the Country.

This is the Manto de la Novia waterfall which was on our way to the BIG waterfall which is just outside the city.  Very pretty!

Yes that is Tracey who snuck into our photo. That helmet is a good look for him!
We rented some dune buggies for a few hours. Zakkary enjoyed them immensely!

We had arrived at the Big waterfall but we had about a 20 minutes walk down to it, which was the easy part! The walk back up is a bit more strenuous to say the least! This was our view. You can see a bridge and a house if you look real closely! You will see those close up later.

This is the BIG waterfall and it is called Pailon del Diablo.

Here you can see the house and the bridge closer up.

Here is a short video of the waterfall.  What power a waterfall has!

Seeing things like these beautiful falls and the power they display made us stop to thank Jehovah for all his hard work and the beautiful planet he gave us! This water fall is the kind of place we would love to spend a few years enjoying. Hopefully one day!

What a lovely view!

Emma & I at the waterfall.

Here we all are

Zakk got to drive the dune buggy too! Watch out!

Michele and I had the slowest dune buggy! And of course it broke down later!
But within 15 minutes the pit crew had us up and running again!

Casacada de la Virgen waterfall is right in the town of Banos.

These are pictures of the Tungurahua Volcanoe which is just outside the city of Banos.  We had a nice view of it on our drive back to Cuenca.

Can you believe they have snow capped mountains here?
We all went out in service Saturday morning with our presentations prepared in Spanish. Its hard to tell who is really enjoying the message and who is just very curious about these strange people that are speaking terrible Spanish but obviously have something they want us to know!

Tracey and Emma were both able to play the why study the bible video. We tried to keep them in Ecuador by hiding their tickets home but they found them. We will do better next time!
